About Me

My photo
I am a Mom and I LOVE it! My kids are my world and I love that I get to stay at home with them. I ride horses with my Hubby (still learning) it is so much fun. I live on a mini farm or you could call it that. I have 8 horses 3 dogs 2 cats and some cows. I grew up in a little town and could not wait to get to the big city but I guess I am a country girl at heart I just love it.

I think some of you might get a kick out of this!

Brian and I went on our Uinta pack trip this year, only we didn't pack in we stayed in the trailer. So much better, I love the back country and not seeing people for days but I sure Love a soft bed to sleep in. We found this great little campsite and set up. The next day we rode the horses to the trail head but by the time we got there I was already sore so we went back to the camp rather then going up the trail. The next day we moved our camp closer to the trail head and made it up the trail that day but just before we got to the first lake of many it started to rain and Hail on us, so we turned back towards camp. Only an hour later the sun came out and ended up a beautiful day! At that point I was so sore I couldn't even sit in the saddle any longer so we just spent the day at camp. Even though the trail rides got ruined it was sure nice to have time alone with my husband and a break from the kids. With all the bad weather we didn't really get any good pictures except one and I thought some of you might enjoy getting a good laugh on my expense! :)

Westons Birthday

Weston's Birthday was so much fun this year! He turned 6, wow I can't even believe it!!! Of course we did a cowboy birthday day theme again, and why would we do anything else for him? He got a John Wayne cowboy figure with Dollar his horse, I never thought I would learn so much about old westerns. He also got a PBR bull riding set and he was just in heaven I didn't see or hear from him for days after he was so entertained by the western sets. We just had cake and ice cream with family this year and with all our busy schedules it worked out best that way.

JW Birthday

Its been a while and I am going back to update everything!

For JW's Birthday we took him to Hoogle Zoo. He loved it we didnt walk through the whole park! It was a really good thing both Brian and I were there or we would have lost a child! The Boys had so much fun! When we got home we roasted Hot Dogs (JW favorite next to noodles) and let him open his gifts! We got him a batman costume and he was so excited he had to put it on right then it didnt matter that he had more gifts.

Easter

My poor kids really missed out on the fun of Easter this year! I ended up working the whole week before Easter so we didn't get to do our usual Easter egg coloring and pre hunt. We did at least make it to an Easter egg hunt in hinckley and the kids loved it. Weston said it was the best egg hunt ever!!! He got a few prize eggs and one was a little baby doll, when he got it he tossed it on the ground and said "what are they thinkin babies are for girls" JW was excited to get it though he LOVES babies whether they are real or not! It was a really quick trip to Delta since we were helping Aunt Janett move to lehi we just got everything loaded and hit the road. It was nice to see family I havent seen in a while even though it was just for a minute.

Cows

Here are some pictures of Weston and Brian branding the cows! Weston was so excited that his dad got roping cows for him and some beef cow for dad. The minute they got home from picking up the cows Weston wanted to go saddle his horse and rope one! He was very upset when he found out he has A LOT MORE practicing to do on the dumby cow!

Weston is growing up!

Yesterday was kindergarten roundup and I cant believe Weston is old enough to go this fall!!!! He was old enough to go last year his birthday is in Aug. But I was not ready! This year we made it to the roundup (just in time) I was unprepared like always and so I had to run to Logan to get his birth certificate and imunizations from the Doctors office that morning! I only made it 20 mins late so I figure I did good.
Weston did Awesome with the assesment test. He got everything they asked him right except the letter "V" and only counted to 13 (but he has done to 20 at home before) I am so proud of him! I wish I could take the credit for him learning everything he needed to for school but I have to give it to the preschool teachers he has they are amazing and Weston has learned so much from them!

My First Auto Accident!

Ok I know it is hard to believe that this is my first time damaging a car but it is! I have made it 10 years with only a scratch to a car, but yesterday it finally happened. The hardest part about the whole thing is I was doing something good! I have a neighbor who's children run wild and one of them was walking up the road in a snow storm with no coat or parents in sight so I stoped and walked him back to his house! While I was backing up I had to maneuver between a garage can and a post they put up to mark there property well it was snowing and slick so as I backed up I slid and slammed into the pole! It is a little embarrassing to admit that I hit a pole but thats what happened!
I got home and had to get the courage up to call Brian to tell him what had just happened and this took sometime! To my surprise he was more mad that the family has allowed there children to be unattended like they always are and not so mad at me! This was great since I was already beating myself up over the whole situation I didn't need him to join in on it too.
So tomorrow comes the bad part finding out what this mess is going to cost to fix!!!

Playing in the snow

This is the first time that JW wanted to play in the snow and then really played. He Hates the cold and being cold. This day was lots warmer so I think that made the differance. Weston and JW play so cute together all the time, Weston is such a great big brother.

Girls Night Away

I am so excited!!! This Friday night 2 of my friends from High School and I are staying In Salt Lake for the night (with out kids and husbands)and than going shopping in Park City on Saturday! I am looking forward to a night away from my boys and having fun with the Girls!

Life is busy

So life has been busy at the Bowen House. Brian is working tons of hours and I am very Thankful for this since some people are not working at all. This last week at the Funeral Home we had 2 deaths so I have been working tons with that. One of the funerals were for a girl who was only 23 years old and Beautiful. I knew the first death of a younger person would be hard but didnt count on how hard and how much it would effect me, but I made it through and things turned out as good as could be. I think that first funeral that is a child I will be calling in sick. Depending on who the babysitter is the boys have been excited to get to go play with friends while I work. I have several friends who help me and and we trade babysiting so we dont have to pay someone when we go to work this works out great and I love it.
